Employee Spotlight: Brittany Hites
Coach Brittany Hites consistently brings her best game on and off the court. To those who know Brittany, it may not be surprising to learn that she was a volleyball coach for 13 years. Some of the best coaches are passionate, adaptable, and committed. Brittany exhibits all these characteristics as a Department Supervisor at Joint Active Systems (JAS).
Brittany’s passionate personality is integral to making JAS feel like a family. She takes the time to welcome and get to know each new team member who joins the office crew, encouraging and increasing the synergy between departments. She is also an excellent listener who cares deeply about the JAS team. When someone is going through a hard time, Brittany leads the charge in rallying behind that person to offer support, encouragement, and raise money through 50/50 raffles and bake sales to provide financial assistance. Brittany loves to bake and decorate cakes, and we love to indulge in her delicious goodies. With that combination, raising money around here for worthy causes is not difficult. Because of her efforts, every year, we can support many JAS employees and their families during the holidays and other challenging circumstances.
To teach effectively, it is essential to have a detailed understanding of the task. Over the 17 years Brittany has been at JAS, she has worked in almost every department, giving her invaluable experience and wisdom. She has always been bold in asking questions and seeking guidance from other departments. Unafraid to lead by example, Brittany gladly learns new skills in other departments to provide assistance when someone is out of
the office or overloaded. She cross trains her peers with the knowledge she gains to encourage them to help when they see a need.
Brittany is a very hands‐on supervisor. She would only ask people on her team to do something she is also willing to do. If someone from another department comes to her with a question, she stops what she is doing to address it and help that person find an answer. There are no boundaries regarding training and supporting all team members to become their best.
When Brittany isn’t at work, her passion and commitment are poured into all aspects of her personal life as a wife, mom, aunt, and friend. She and her husband of 15 years, Jeremy, are the proud parents of their 3‐year‐old son, Bryson. They love spending time together as a family and with extended family, especially at the campground. She and her husband also enjoy jet skiing when it is warm enough. Winter officially begins next week, so she may have to trade her jet ski for snow skis until summer returns.
Thank you for all the ways you coach, mentor, and lead our team. We could not do it without you.
