National Athletic Training Month!
National Athletic Training Month exists to spread awareness about the vital work of athletic trainers, which the American Medical Association recognizes as allied healthcare providers. If you want to learn more about the role of athletic trainers as part of rehabilitation, check out this article by Paul Nathenson, MPA CRRN.
Although we encourage you to read the full article, we have highlighted a couple of important facts below:
ATCs are required to have a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university. In fact, 70% of ATCs have a master's or doctorate degree.
ATCs are regulated by licensure in 43 states and have more stringent licensing criteria than many other allied health professionals.
ATCs are suited to work with the type of orthopedic patients we see in rehabilitation settings, such as joint replacements and hip and knee surgeries.
At JAS, we are fortunate to work with many Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) nationwide in our distributor network, including:
Bill Bolesta (Maryland)
Vince Colarusso (Pennsylvania)
Laurie Coyle (Oregon)
Brandon King, Jared Plummer, Chandler Pace (North Carolina)
Hannah Lay (Minnesota)
Brad Persinger (South Carolina)
Sean Martin (Washington)
Andy Reichert, Josh Roberts, Brian Kretschmer, Luke Patrick (Illinois)
Clint Wynn, Ryan Maccini, Jessica Livingston (Florida)
Thank you to all ATCs for your invaluable role in patients' lives.
