Employee Spotlight: Cory Barcus
Cory Barcus has been a part of the Joint Active Systems (JAS) family since March 2021. He currently works in the Missing Information Department but is flexible to take on many different responsibilities, support other departments, and fill in wherever needed. We like to think his attention to detail and desire to learn are some of the qualities that help him hit the bullseye each day.
You may have guessed it from the bullseye reference, but Cory is a dart enthusiast. He attends tournaments and events all over Illinois and surrounding states. Last year Cory & his teammate Erica placed 4th of 29 teams at the North American Dart Organization (NADO) Continental Finale in Madison, Wisconsin, and his triples team placed 2nd of 32 teams. Teamwork is an integral part of the game of darts. Cory applies those same skills in his professional life through his willingness to help coworkers, which has quickly turned him into a mentor and trainer within the company. At JAS, Cory’s bullseye is taking care of our customers, which is our most important mission. He is not afraid to ask questions if he does not understand something, and ifsomething a little off target, he thinks of potential solutions before presenting the concern to his supervisors.
One way to win at darts is to aim for double and triple points. You must make the most of every dart thrown at the board. At JAS, Cory uses this concept to obtaining missing information. He is intentional, making sure to gain as much information as possible in the fewest amount of calls, which makes the order process smooth for our referral sources and fellow JAS team members. He is also strategic about cultivating future orders by educating new referral sources and connecting them with the local JAS representative in their area.
Cory’s drive to hit the mark each day is evident in his professionalism and positive attitude. His favorite thing about working at JAS is how much the company really cares about its employees. People like Cory are truly, what makes our company a great place to work. Cory loves to “bring home the hardware in the game of darts.” Although we do not have the hardware to present to you, we wanted to take a moment to recognize you for the difference you make each day. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
