Restore forearm ROM with JAS - a study.

A study was conducted on the use of our SPS Pro/Sup device for the restoration of forearm rotation range of motion. Thirty-eight patients who had limited pronation and supination following injuries and who failed other physical therapy techniques carried out a 30- to 60-minute stretching protocol with the device 1 to 3 times per day, as directed by the treating therapist. All 38 patients finished the 12 week course of treatment without any short term complications.

The standard range of motion for forearm rotation is 0° to 122°. On average, patients saw an increase of 42°! No injuries, skin irritations, nerve palsies, or other complications were reported and 82% of patients reported that they were "highly satisfied" with the outcome in their final followup appointment.

The study concluded that Static Progressive Stretch was recommended for patients with forearm range of motion limitations resistant to standard therapy treatment.
