Employee Spotlight: Dan Willenborg
Each day can be an adventure when you are the Equipment & Facility Maintenance person at Joint Active Systems (JAS.) Dan Willenborg has been a part of the JAS family for over 5 years. He does everything from maintaining and repairing shop equipment, building devices, changing light bulbs, and even assisting team members with jump-starting their vehicles. Dan is a very hard worker with a heart of gold. He truly enjoys the people he works with and appreciates the trust and confidence we put in him.
Dan consistently shows up early during the winter to clear our walkways and put down ice melt to keep our team safe. One co-worker shared, “He is always one of the first to step up and help.” Dan comes from a family of 11 kids, so he knows a thing or two about helping wherever needed.
When he is not cruising around the warehouse on the forklift, you can find him on two wheels with the sun on his face, the wind blowing through his hair, and… Oh wait, Dan doesn’t have any hair, but you can find him on his Road King motorcycle wearing a bandana with a smile on his face. He definitely has a way of bringing comic relief to the shop floor, which we can all appreciate.
Dan has been married to his wife Margie for 36 years, and they have three wonderful sons, but nothing compares to the joy their 4-year-old granddaughter Scarlet brings them. They love spending time with her doing anything at all, but especially enjoy taking her to the park and are looking forward to many more adventures as she gets older.
He takes an annual motorcycle trip with his friends. So far, they have been to 42 of the 50 states. When asked what he enjoys about riding his motorcycle, he “loves that he can just let his mind wander.” Perhaps his long rides guide him back to the light-hearted soul we all know and enjoy here at JAS. No matter the reason, we are grateful Dan is a part of the JAS family and appreciates the many things he does to keep our business running smoothly.
